MCWD joins the 38th PAWD Convention
2 MCWD Directors receive Service Awards

Malaybalay City – The Malaybalay City Water District (MCWD), a member of the Philippine Association of Water Districts (PAWD) joins the 38th National Convention which was held at the SMX Convention Center in Davao City on February 1-3, 2017.
According to MCWD General Manager Juanito “Jun” Aroa, the said convention with the theme “Adapting to Change” was participated by more than1,000 delegates from the water districts all over the country. Different activities were held such as sport activities and learning conferences which were organized simultaneously focusing on the different issues and concerns of the water industry. There were also various local and international exhibitors which showcased their water related products.
The event was graced by his excellency, President Rodrigo R. Duterte. In his speech, he emphasized the vital role the water districts in providing sustainable, affordable and safe water to Filipinos. He reminded all not be a hindrance in propagating and cultivating surface water.
Technical sessions addressing water safety issues and concerns of water districts and the implementation and standards and procedures for Water Safety in the Philippines were presented by Virgilio L. Bombeta, Team Leader of LWUA- WSP Team and Anthony Sales, Regional Director of Department of Science and Technology, respectively.
GM Aroa said, the culminating activity of the convention was the awarding of Service Awards to members of the Board of Directors who have been serving their respective water districts. Among the awardees are two (2) of the MCWD Board of Directors namely Director Manny James A. Cudal II and Director Violeta N. Tabios who have been serving the district for 10 dedicated years.
