MCWD attends BAWD 2nd Quarter Meeting

Malaybalay City, 9 July 2018 - The Malaybalay City Water District (MCWD) attended the 2nd Quarter Meeting of the Bukidnon Association of Water Districts (BAWD) held at Binahon Agroforestry Farm, Lantapan Bukidnon on July 3, 2018. The said meeting was hosted by the newly created and newest member of BAWD which is the Lantapan Water District headed by its acting General Manager Romeo Diana.
During the said meeting, visitors from Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) headed by Engr. Josephine S. Miravalles ,Acting Senior Deputy Administrator and Engr. Rey Mallari, Acting Department Manager for Area Operations-Mindanao presented updates and development programs offered to local water districts. General Managers and board members of the different water districts in Bukidnon were also given the opportunity to inquire and make clarifications regarding their operations, required documents and reports by LWUA as well as the new LWUA mandates and issuances on NRW Reduction and water district performance.
After the presentation and discussion with LWUA, the BAWD president and general manager of Valencia City Water District Ma. Socorro Paluga spearheaded the signing of Memorandum of Understanding with Mindanao Daily News Publishing Corporation represented by its President and CEO Dante Sudaria. This Partnership Agreement will give opportunity for the members of BAWD to publish their press releases, stories and news photos for free in Mindanao Daily Newspaper. The said agreement was the result of the 2-day journalism and communication training workshop jointly conducted by BAWD and Mindanao Daily last April 5-6, 2018 at Cagayan de Oro City.
This meeting was also a significant activity for the Lantapan Water District for finally being awarded with their Conditional Certificate of Conformance. Engr. Miravalles awarded the certificate to the Board Chairman of Lantapan Water District, Engr. Afrudecio Pagulon together with GM Romeo Diana.
The said activity was attended by GM Glenrose Ledesma together with Board Chairman Engr. Jorge Lagumbay, Vice Chairman Manny James Cudal, Board Secretary Dr. Violeta Tabios, Board Auditor Atty. Alberto Lagamon.
