MCWD, MCG and MCGWSS Prepares for El Niño


Malaybalay City – The Malaybalay City Water District (MCWD) management headed by General Manager Glenrose T. Ledesma and the City Government of Malaybalay led by City Mayor Ignacio W. Zubiri together with the team of Malaybalay City Government Water Supply System (MCGWSS) headed by Tomas Y. Taga, Project Management Officer and the team from the City Engineering Office conducted a meeting on March 1, 2019 at the MCWD Board Room. The said meeting is in response to the development of El Niño phenomenon in the country in which Bukidnon is one of the provinces that will likely experience the dry condition that will continue until the lattermost part of April 2019. This is according to the latest Climate Advisory No. 4 issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration (PAGASA) on February 25, 2019.

The meeting intends to have a joint undertaking between the City Government of Malaybalay and MCWD to develop immediate plans, preparations and precautionary measures to mitigate the potential effects of the current climatic condition in the city of Malaybalay.

With the support of Mayor Zubiri and the MCWD Board of Directors headed by Chairman Roberto V. Tinsay, Jr., this joint effort is expected to speed up the plans necessary to cushion the ill effects of the ongoing dry season.
